IDF Attempts to Destroy Homes in Gush Etzion 'Settlement Bloc'
IsraelNationalNews.com-January 11, 2006 / 11 Tevet 5766

Without warning, a small community in t! he consensus region of Gush Etzion has become the center of the government's demolition efforts. Demolition forces face unexpected opposition.

Residents of the community of Sde Boaz, twenty minutes south of Jerusalem, received less that 24 hours' notice that the Civil Administration, on orders from the government, planned to destroy a newly built house, the foundations of a large home and a large stable that were built over the summer.

Border police, accompanied by a bulldozer and Civil Administration officials arrived at the small community of Sde Boaz early Wednesday morning, but were met by friends of the residents and Land of Israel activists, who stopped them in their tracks.

The forces succeeded in bulldozing a large stable, which Sde Boaz residents had built over the summer for their horses and donkeys. When the border and civil forces tried to bulldoze the home, protesters surrounded the building and declared that they would! not budge. Civil Administration officials, who had claimed that the home was not populated and could therefore be destroyed without approval from a senior officer, entered the home to find a comfortable bachelor's "pad," replete with breakfast lying on the kitchen table.

They then turned their attention to the foundations of a home, built by a recently married resident of the community who serves as a company commander in the IDF reserves. Hundreds of local residents who had flocked to the community through fields and vineyards (police blocked the main access road) stood atop the foundations and refused to move, locking arms. Police responded with severe violence, but were soon ordered to stand down after commanders noticed the large number of press photographers on the scene.

Sde Boaz is a unique community. It is an environmentally friendly, agricultural community established by religious and non-observant Jews who sought to create an example of what the State of! Israel can aspire to be – a home where Jews from diverse backgrounds and outlooks can come together to build and assist one another.

The community is also unique in that it is built entirely through Avoda Ivrit, Jewish Labor. The residents not only refuse to exploit local Palestinian workers for cheap, and often shoddy, building, but believe that the reconnection of the Jewish people with their land after a 2,000 year estrangement necessitates getting one's hands dirty with its soil. Though the place is populated by professionals – a medical student, a doctor of physics, a dentist, a veterinarian, a security guard, three teachers, an auto mechanic, an organic farmer and two journalists – most of the residents engage in agricultural projects on the side. Fields of wheat, chickpeas, clover (for the animals), peas, chard and beets, as well as olive and fruit orchards surround the community.

Even before its establishment, over three years ago, the founders would t! rek to the future site and work the state lands situated there, keeping them from being claimed by Arab squatters, who receive stipends from the Palestinian Authority to plant far and wide. Agricultural activity is a way of acquiring land under Ottoman and British Mandate law, which are still applied in Judea and Samaria.

Sde Boaz is located less than a mile north of Neve Daniel and Efrat, the heart of the Gush Etzion settlement bloc. According to the Sharon regime, US President George W. Bush guaranteed Prime Minister Ariel Sharon that Gush Etzion would remain in Jewish hands, in return for the destruction of Jewish towns in Gaza. The community sits on a high point between the Efrat/Neve Daniel bloc and the city of Betar Illit, with a view of the entire region. After residents move in, the IDF situated an advanced surveillance camera there which can see clear to Tel Aviv and the coastal plain, even at night.

Residents were divided on the extent of active oppositio! n to the destruction, but outside activists soon flooded the small community, rendering their preference for organized opposition moot as crowds blocked the bulldozers, singing and dancing in the rain and hail, with guitars and hot tea.

"This isn't just one person's little home and this isn't just our community's small building – this is a Jewish home, built completely by Jews on land that was paid for before the State was even founded, by Jews around the world who donated money to purchase land in Israel through the Jewish National Fund," a Sde Boaz spokesperson told the media. "Such a thing cannot be destroyed due to an arbitrary piece of paper declaring it 'illegal.' "

"The Jewish people must wake up to the fact that they have been lied to. The so-called settlement blocs were talked about merely in order to ease us in to the fact that we are being forced to retreat by non-democratic forces, no matter how many times we reject them at the ballot box."

Another r! esident, a reporter for the weekly Makor Rishon, said that the local Palestinians have been building terraces and digging wells under the nose of the Civil Administration for years. He added that there has been a steep increase in illegal building activity in recent months, funded by the Palestinian Authority and Saudi Arabia, in hopes of slicing Gush Etzion in half and inducing the Supreme Court to influence the route of the Partition Wall.

Israel rejects Pat Robertson funding
Or how to cut off your nose to spite your face

Evangelical preacher Pat Robertson

The Jerusalem Post Internet Edition
Israel rejects Pat Robertson funding

Tourism Minister Avraham Hirchson has shunned US evangelical leader Pat Robertson shortly before the two wer! e to sign a major funding deal for the Galilee Christian Heritage Center after Robertson suggested that Prime Minister Ariel Sharon's stroke was a punishment from God for the Gaza Strip withdrawal, The Jerusalem Post has learned.
"The minister has very strong views on this and cannot accept what was said," Tourism Ministry spokesman Ido Hartuv said. "We reconsidered the deal and realized that we cannot sign with Robertson or anyone who supports his views."
Hartuv stressed that this was an attack on Robertson and his comments rather than a rejection of the evangelical community as a whole, which has become a target group for Israeli tourism in 2006.
Robertson lost favor with the ministry when he said on his popular 700 Club TV show that "God considers the land to be his… For any prime minister of Israel who decides he is going to carve it up and give it away he says, 'No, this is mine.'"
The charismatic broadcaster led a group of evangelical Christians who ! have agreed to raise more than $50 million to build the Heritage Center on a 14-dunam plot of land on the shores of the Sea of Galilee.
Hirchson, who has been a close ally of Sharon throughout the disengagement period and was among the first Likud members to defect with him to form Kadima, was scheduled to sign the agreement with Robertson committing the government to provide the land and infrastructure for the project and the evangelicals the funding.
While Hirchson pulled the plug on Robertson, the project is going ahead as planned and looking for alternative avenues of finance.
"Many people are enthusiastic about the project," said Uri Dagul, who voluntarily heads the steering committee overseeing the project. "We initiated the project before Robertson was on board, and we will continue without him."
Dagul did not dismiss the possibility of working with Robertson if the evangelist issued an appropriate apology.
A spokesman for Robertson coul! d not be reached in time for this report. A reaction to the outcry following his comments posted on his Web site Thursday fell short of issuing an apology, attempting to further explain his stance.
The government presented its plans for the heritage center and biblical garden in May saying it expected the center to bring an additional 750,000 visitors to the country annually.
Dagul said that the allocation of land was expected to be complete within the next six weeks, after which a nonprofit organization needed to be registered before it got the go ahead.
Dagul predicted that construction would start in 2007 and that it would take three to four years to complete.

US Secy of State Rice to Acting PM Olmert: US Committed to Bush-Sharon
understandings

(Communicated by the Prime Minister's Media Adviser)

Acting Prime Minister Ehud Olmert yesterday afternoon (Tuesday), 10 January
2006, spoke with US Secretary of State Dr. Condoleezza Rice, who had
telephoned in order to be updated on Prime Minister Ariel Sharon's
condition.

Acting Prime Minister Olmert updated US Secretary of State Rice on Prime
Minister Sharon's condition. He said that he had spoken with Hadassah
Ein-Kerem Hospital Director Dr. Shlomo Mor-Yosef and added that he was
encouraged by the reports of an improvement in the Prime Minister's
condition.

US Secy. of State Rice said that they were praying for the Prime Minister,
and noted that the US continues to be committed to the security of the State
of Israel and would not allow negative elements to exploit Israel's internal
state in order to escalate the situation. She emphasized that the US stood
behind all of its understandings with Prime Minister Sharon regarding the
Roadmap and US President George Bush's two-state vision.

Acting Prime Minister Olmert said that Israel was concerned by the rise of
Hamas, continued terrorism and the ineffectualness of Abu Mazen and the
Palestinian Authority (PA). He added that in light of the PA's explicit
commitment to disband Hamas and its infrastructures after and as a result of
the elections, Israel would not give the Palestinians any excuse for
postponing the elections and evading this commitment. The Acting Prime
Minister said that on Sunday, 15 January 2006, he would submit for Cabinet
approval the issue of voting by several hundred eastern Jerusalem Arab at
Postal Authority branches, as was done in the 1996 and 2005 PA elections, it
being clear that terrorist organizations and their representatives will be
unable to participate in the elections in Jerusalem.

Acting Prime Minister Olmert thanked US Secy. of State Rice for her
telephone call and asked that she convey his appreciation to US President
Bush and to the American people for the support and solidarity that they are
showing for Israel at this sensitive time.

Greetings Saints,
We really need to watch Iran. The leader of that country is a fanatic. He is calling for Islamists from all over the world to stand up and fight. Globel Holy War against the people of the book, The USA and Israel.
From what he says he wants to help user in a 7 year period of cleansing! Sound like the Tribualtion. So tomorrow I asked David Dyer ( Author of the Ant-Christ book http://www.agrainofwheat.com/ ) to come back on and talk about the False prophet. It will be a good program!
Yesterday we had a good day at the Wichita Mission. We still need a few Bills paid but nothing like the first of the month or the end of December..Mom made homemade lassondya ( real bad spelling)..pray about supporting these works and radio for sure if you are blessed by the programs. We were packed to just standing room only! many were blessed!
We need a couple of things to help in order to be of better service to you. I am doing more to set the studio up here and I will tape progams and then place them online. I may even try live broadcasts but recording them first is much easier. I am also looking to braodcast or mirco braodcast on FM from here. I need a radio to do that and cost for that will run about $1000 to get started......
We need another computer for the studio badly, also a server to use for net braodcasts, and we are desperate for a laptop. I belive I should be brodcasting daily! This could be done on avr if I could find someone who wishes to sponser the programs, otherwise it would be cheaper in the long run to set up a station here and that is what I feel ledt to do. I would like to add a studio camera live so we need one of those also.
So saints pray about helping get this radio station and net broadcasts off to a good start pray about it. Time is short. And I will have others broadcasting though our station........
Pray for us help if you can!
In His Perfect peace, Pastor Dan

New effort seeks 'biblical heartland' to break away for own sovereignty

Jewish groups urge:
Secede from Israel
New effort seeks 'biblical heartland' to break away for own sovereignty

JERUSALEM - A new movement is set to be presented next week by
residents of Judea and Samaria calling for Jews there to secede from
Israel and create their own autonomous Jewish entity in part to head
off the possibility of further unilateral Israeli withdrawals from
the area, WND has learned.

The Judea Initiative, led by northern Samaria resident Yekutel Ben
Yaacov, is seeking to gather signatures from Judea and Samaria's
nearly 200,000 Jews for a manifesto declaring the creation of a
sovereign Jewish authority that would govern itself independently
according to Jewish law and would provide its own security.

Judea and Samaria are referred to by some as the West Bank, the name
coined for the area after Jordan annexed it in 1948.

The initiative aims to create the new Jewish authority in any part of
Judea and Samaria, even a small settlement, in hopes of eventually
ruling the entire territory, Ben Yaacov said, explaining his
initiative was prompted by talks of possible Israeli withdrawals from
the area.

"We can't sit around and wait until Israel sends the bulldozers to
take down Jewish communities in Judea and Samaria before attempting
to counter the next Israeli withdrawal. We are acting now so we can
retain our rightful biblical heritage," Ben Yaacov told WND.

Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon withdrew Israel's Jewish
communities from the Gaza Strip last summer in spite of fierce
opposition from members of his own Likud party. He recently announced
he was leaving Likud to start his own "centrist" party, Kadima,
prompting new elections currently scheduled for March. Since then,
multiple Kadima members have told reporters the new party is looking
to change Israel's borders with possible withdrawals from Judea and
Samaria. There have been talks of disengagements from parts of
Jerusalem as well.

It's unclear as yet how Sharon's massive stroke this week and his
inability to govern will affect the future politics of Israel.

Currently, Judea and Samaria, inhabited by about 2.4 million
Palestinians, is considered landlocked territory not officially
recognized as part of any country. Israel calls the land "disputed."
The United Nations claims Judea and Samaria is "occupied" by Israel,
which maintains overall control of most of the area while the
Palestinian Authority has jurisdiction in about 40 percent.

Judea and Samaria remained under Jordanian rule from 1948 until
Israel captured the territory in 1967 after Jordan's King Hussein
ignored Israeli pleas for his country to stay out of the Six Day War.
Most countries rejected Jordan's initial claim on the area, which it
formally renounced in 1988.

Ben Yaacov says his Judea Initiative takes advantage of Judea and
Samaria's murky legal status to argue for independent Jewish
sovereignty.

"Legally it's a no-man's land. The Palestinians used that status to
create their own authority, so there is absolutely no reason the Jews
can't do the same thing."

Ben Yaacov's group, Mishalot Israel, is holding a conference next
week in Jerusalem's Old City to present the Judea Initiative. It will
then begin petitioning both private citizens and entire communities
to join.

He says already he has garnered interest from local residents and
some town leaders.

"The plan hasn't even been announced or presented and already I am
getting a lot of phone calls from people and at least one town that
wants to sign on. They are hearing about it by word of mouth," Ben
Yaacov said. "The area is the site of a lot of the Bible and has had
a Jewish population for centuries. We will not allow the Israeli
government to kick us out."

Many villages in the Judea and Samaria area, which Israelis commonly
reefer to as the "biblical heartland," are mentioned throughout the
Old Testament.

The Book of Genesis says Abraham entered Israel at Shechem (Nablus)
and received God's promise of land for his offspring.

Jacob dreamed of angels on a stairway leading to heaven

The nearby town of Beit El, anciently called Bethel meaning "house of
God," is where Scripture says patriarch Jacob slept on a stone pillow
and dreamed of angels ascending and descending a stairway to heaven.
In that dream, God spoke directly to Jacob and reaffirmed the promise
of territory.

And in Exodus, the holy tabernacle rested in Shilo, which is believed
to be the first area the ancient Israelites settled after fleeing
Egypt.

Ben Yaacov said his new Jewish authority would be "governed by Jewish
law. Non-Jews, including Palestinians, are more than welcome to live
there as long as they accept Jewish sovereign and agree to abide by
the Seven Noahide laws, the most basic of biblical dictates."

He said the annexed territory would provide for its own security.

"A large contingent of Judea and Samaria residents served in the
Israeli army. They currently defend their own settlements to a large
extent. We would base ours on the same concept as Israeli security.
Immediately after Israel was founded, it was attacked on all sides
and it won every war because of the help of God and because of the
same people we have with us."

The initiative states there are three primary reasons to form a
Jewish authority in Judea and Samaria:

"The new Jewish authority will protect Israel from terror and enhance
Israeli security. It is more advantageous to have Jewish autonomy in
Judea and Samaria in place of complete Palestinian autonomy, which
will give the Palestinian terrorist groups more land from which to
fire Qassams and launch attacks. The Jews who remain in the area will
be accepting a certain level of self-sacrifice by putting themselves
in harms way."

"The creation of a Jewish authority will relieve tension and prevent
bloodshed between Jew and fellow Jew by halting an Israeli withdrawal
from Judea and Samaria. There are hundreds of thousands of Jews in
the area, some of whom may use violent resistance in the face of any
withdrawal. It will also alleviate some of the tension and rifts that
would be created in Israeli society by any withdrawal."

"The new Jewish authority will offer appropriate self-determination
to fulfil the national aspirations of many religious Jews in Israel.
The area will be ruled by Torah law as opposed to the current
anti-religious government."
Ben Yaacov's Judea Initiative is not the first major push for Jews to
secede from Israel. In 1989, the late author and Knesset member Rabbi
Meir Kahane, a mentor of Ben Yaacov, attempted to found the State of
Judea, a Jewish state in Judea and Samaria. That effort eventually
fell through.

"Ours is different in that we are starting small," explained Ben
Yaacov. "We are not talking about our own state, just an entity or
authority, however small or large it will be."

Reacting to the news of calls for Jews to create their own authority,
chief Palestinian negotiator Saeb Erekat told WorldNetDaily, "This is
the chaos and lawlessness [the Palestinian Authority] has warned
about. If the Israeli government does not get its act together
concerning the settlers, who by the way are armed to the teeth and
acting like a parallel authority, the price will be paid in
Palestinian blood."

Israeli government spokesmen Raanan Gissin and David Baker refused to
comment on the issue.

Said Ben Yaacov, "There may be resistance at first, but eventually
people will come to understand a lot of Jews in Judea and Samaria
will not go along with any further withdrawals. Now those Jews will
have a solution."

1.  Sharon Begins to Emerge Slowly from Induced Coma
By Hillel Fendel

Doctors at Hadassah Hospital have begun the process of easing Prime Minister Sharon out of his induced coma, and he has begun breathing on his own. He is still connected to a respirator, however.

Prof. Shlomo Mor-Yoseph, Director of Hadassah in Ein Karem, Jerusalem, said this morning that the process of awakening the Prime Minister could take hours or even days. It involves gradually reducing the dosage of the sedatives. Only at the end of the process, Mor-Yoseph said, will it be possible to evaluate the extent of the damage caused to Sharon's brain and his chances of full recovery.

"The Prime Minister's condition is still critical," Mor-Yoseph said. "This is not a dramatic process. The fact that he is beginning to breathe on his own is the first change; we will not brief you about every change that occurs, but we felt that this one is of great interest, and therefore we are announcing it."

Sharon underwent a CAT scan yesterday, after which Mor-Yoseph said that the liquids in the patient's cranium had drained significantly, and the image of the brain was clearer. No changes for the worse were registered over night, allowing the doctors to go ahead with their plan to ease the Prime Minister out of his coma today.

Doctors agree that it is impossible to predict whether Sharon will fully recover or what the extent of brain damage will be.

The surgeon who operated on Sharon, Dr. Husa Cohen, said recently that some patients in Sharon's situation "do not survive, while others return to work - such that there is a wide range of possibilities... He will certainly remain with some cognitive damage, as this occurs even in much less severe strokes."

Sharon has undergone three operations since his emergency hospitalization on Wednesday night: a seven-hour operation at first, a two-hour affair on Thursday morning, and a nearly four-hour operation on Friday.

2.  Ketzaleh Shares Mixed Feelings About Arik Sharon
By Hillel Fendel

Mixed with feelings of personal gratitude, admiration and even love, Sharon's former advisor says the PM's actions of the past years have left a large cloud over his great contributions to Israel.

The Chairman of the Board of Directors of Arutz-7, Yaakov "Ketzaleh" Katz, was a long-time personal friend of Ariel Sharon. When Sharon served as Housing Minister in the Yitzchak Shamir government of 1990-92, Ketzaleh was his top aide and advisor, helping him build communities in and around Jerusalem, the Golan, Judea, Samaria and Gaza.

In light of Sharon's critical illness, Ketzaleh shared his feelings (in Hebrew) with IsraelNationalNews television:

"My connection with Arik goes back for decades. I volunteered and enlisted in the so-very difficult years of the war against terrorism, from 1969 until the Yom Kippur War in 1973, serving in the [elite] Shaked Unit, beginning as a simple soldier up to deputy company commander. During this war, in Gaza and throughout Sinai, I met with Arik very often; I worked under him, and he was the leader and director of the battle, especially in Gaza.

"During the Yom Kippur War, we were in a special force of officers, and at one point, we were 12 officers who fought face to face with 80 Egyptian commandos. I was critically wounded in this battle, and I can say that with G-d's help, and because of Sharon's decision and intervention - the commander told him over the radio, 'If you don't want a dead officer here, then you better get a helicopter over here fast' - and Sharon agreed to send a helicopter into the battleground and get me out of there, and because of that, I can now sit with my family and my grandchildren and enjoy the fruits - both physical and spiritual - of this beautiful settlement enterprise. Therefore, without a doubt, I owe him a debt of gratitude.

"At this point, with him very sick, since it
